This design honors Vazgen Sargsyan — a defining figure of modern Armenian history, remembered not as a symbol, but as a leader who stood at the edge of collapse and chose resistance.

Known to the people as Sparapet, Vazgen Sargsyan became the organizing force behind Armenia’s defense during one of its most fragile years — organizing defense, enforcing discipline, and insisting on accountability when institutions were still forming. The name, "Sparapet" is an ancient Armenian title meaning Supreme Military Commander or Commander-in-Chief. Historically, it was not ceremonial. It was a role assumed in moments of national crisis — entrusted to individuals responsible for defense, coordination, and survival.

Vazgen Sargsyan believed that Armenia could not survive on emotion alone.
He stood for:

Unity through structure, not division

He pushed for a state built on discipline, shared duty, and national cohesion. His assassination in 1999 cut short a vision centered on collective responsibility and institutional strength.
